Lorica's founders began their careers leading teams and managing high-risk operations in the U.S. military. We met as business school classmates and are assembling the team that will bring mission-critical work into the modern era.
Ben Kallas
Co-Founder & COO
Ben commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps after college and was selected to become a ground intelligence officer. In that capacity, he deployed with the first Marine unit to re-enter Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2017.
He developed the task force's intelligence architecture from scratch and developed intelligence-sharing relationships with units across the country. He then transitioned to Marine reconnaissance and led a new, multidisciplinary intelligence collection team for the Marine Corps' experimental task force for island warfare in the western Pacific.
Ben holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College.
Jonathan Lee
Co-Founder & CEO
Jonathan commissioned as an aviation officer in the U.S. Army, flying the AH-64D/E Apache helicopter. He was stationed at Wheeler Army Airfield, HI, where he led the first port operations of the unit's newly fielded attack helicopters and eventually published on the subject matter and edited Army Doctrine impacting future logistics ops.
After Hawaii, he was selected to re-establish and take command of Alpha Troop 1-17 CAV and led the training, logistics, and administrative requirements to deploy to Afghanistan during the retrograde in 2021, flying 20+ missions as an air mission commander.
He most recently served in a business development role at Sky Harbour Group, experiencing first hand the security needs of business jet owners. Jonathan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy.
Mitch Main
Co-Founder & CTO
Mitch is a software engineer and systems architect with more than a decade of experience building secure, scalable infrastructure for startups and enterprise clients. He has held engineering roles at multiple startups like Avalara, PipelineDeals, Moz.
Mitch led the development of a platform for automating royalty payments tied to third-party sales data and intellectual property contracts for a leading streaming platform. The system ingested external reports, parsed legal agreements, and generated audit-ready invoices – delivered on time and under budget.
He has implemented GDPR-compliant data protection protocols, built CI/CD pipelines for both application and analytics code, and managed secure integrations across CRM, billing, and analytics systems. His obsession with the developer experience elevates the standards and morale within teams he's worked with.
